On April 19, 2025, the world's first humanoid robot half marathon was held in Yizhuang, Beijing. The two teams from Noetix Robotics — "Xiao Wantong Team" and "Whirlwind Kid Team" — achieved impressive results in the fierce competition, finishing second and third respectively, showcasing their exceptional technical strength.
The Noetix Robotics N2 robot stands 1.2 meters tall and weighs 30 kilograms, equipped with 18 high-performance joints and an advanced motion control system that allows it to maintain stability and agility while running at high speeds.
The Xiao Wantong Team, centered on the concept of "Anthropomorphism and Running," started the race in sixth place. "Xiao Wantong" was the only robot in the entire competition that did not require human traction and ran completely autonomously. Once it started, it immediately displayed amazing explosive power, overtaking three competitors in succession. Its stable gait and hardware reliability allowed "Xiao Wantong" to move steadily forward, ultimately crossing the finish line in 3 hours and 37 minutes, earning second place. This performance garnered widespread praise from netizens, who commented: “The only robot that ran by itself!” “Xiao Wantong ran independently, so steady!” and others expressed: “This little one is impressive!” “So cute, Xiao Wantong welcoming its brother at the finish line,” “This little guy is truly promising!”
Meanwhile, the other team, "Whirlwind Kid Team," showcased an indomitable spirit with their core concept of "Speed and Passion." Despite falling midway, the robot quickly recovered and continued to run strongly, finishing the race in third place. Netizens rallied in support of its tenacious spirit: “The number one in our hearts” “Just finishing makes it a hero.”
On-site technicians explained that "Xiao Wantong's" autonomous running ability is attributed to its advanced environmental perception system and motion control algorithms, allowing it to adjust its gait like a human. The "Whirlwind Kid's" ability to recover quickly after a fall demonstrates outstanding adaptability and reliability. After the race, these two robots, which completed the event solely based on their own capabilities, attracted strong attention from the audience and netizens.
In this competition, the performance of the two teams of robots was not only a demonstration of technology but also verified their reliability in real-world scenarios. Through continuous optimization of the robot hardware and control systems, Noetix Robotics successfully achieved stability in autonomous running, laying a solid foundation for the future application of robots in more real-world contexts. Noetix Robotics stated that it will continue to promote technological innovation and explore more application scenarios, bringing robots into daily life to provide broader services to society.
